a little something about me.
I’m a 90’s girl, born in Lisbon and raised between the city, the mountains and the atlantic ocean.
Since I remember I’ve always been moved by love, beauty, freedom, a sense of lightness, movement and evolution.
Art and creativity have always been in the core of what I do and of my academic and professional path, either through design, illustration, cooking, theater, dance, music, writing and yôga.
I’ve done many different things in my life: I did theater for 6 years, I have a degree in Communication Design, an area in which I worked for 5 years and still do as a freelance, I worked as a freelance illustrator for 4 years, I worked in the restaurant business for a year, and after a while I had my own organic vegetarian home-delivery business in Lisbon for three years.
I started practicing Swásthya Yôga in 2014 at DeRose Method, a self-development school, and in 2019 I made a one year professional formation to become a teacher. Every year I re-validate my teacher certificate to deepen my knowledge, keep my classes with maximum quality and up-to-date.
In my classes I aim to give my students the tools to build a more self-sufficient and fulfilling life, through the development of their self-awareness, inviting them to go deeper on themselves, developing their senses and intuition and breaking through their limits in a pleasurable, self-respectable and non-repressive way.
My biggest belief is that we can build the amazing life we desire if we just pay attention and are truth to ourselves.
Everything I do comes from an intent to create, explore and experience life through beauty and an exploration of the senses as an on-going evolution process. My work purpose is to humbly share what I learn and captivate hearts, to touch, to disturb, to inspire and to generate a strong impact in the world around me. To boost evolution through softness, joy and pleasure, using myself as my main field of experience. Always keeping on learning, as a never-ending energy exchange process.

“
With Catarina, I learned what is the power of transformation and how it helps us to restructure our desires. Through her wonderful work, I expanded my own awareness, perfected my process, my mind and my emotions. Above all, I learned the words Acceptance and Contemplation. To accept what life gives us and live by contemplating the beauty, the splendid life we have ahead of us!

“
With her soft voice, Catarina soothes us and warms our heart, while simultaneously triggers in us determination, focus, self overcomingness and mental clarity!

“
In her classes Catarina transmits a soft balance between intensity and relaxation, which is a very efficient vehicle to our progress in yôga. She does it with passion but also with humor. It’s a pleasure to have her as a teacher.

“
I must say that the hope about gaining a 7:30AM class routine was slim, but to my great amazement Catarina captivated me from the first moment. With a sweet voice and a smooth timbre, nevertheless with precise and safe orientations. With smooth and pleasant movements, but still very powerful and complete in its sequence, Cat guides her classes perfectly, leading us to understand and accept that we should strive during classes, but without forcing or violating our body, instilling us by a disciplined practice the general rules of execution, without impositions or repressions.

“
Cat’s classes had a very sensory effect in me. As a man, I naturally have a social and educational pressure to bend towards “hardness” and rigidity. With Cat, I learned to feel and let come out my most delicate, honest and vulnerable side. The resilience in the (yôga) practice reflects and echoes in the rest of my life.
